First of all, thanks to everyone for your well wishes (since replies to comments have been slow in coming). Today I was SO tired and didn’t do a whole lot. I didn’t even think I’d make it to blogging today. But, obviously I have. I hope to be back to feeling better (in some respects) in about a week or two. Just need to be good about taking my thyroid. Missing the last few weeks was a BAD idea. And I know this. Sometimes life just gets in the way.
So yesterday’s trip was to pick up some fabric from a local (online only) fabric retailer. I was lucky enough to stumble across Aunt Bea’s Sewing Basket and find that she has some great prices on fabric. She is going to be retiring and trying to liquidate her stock. She has an awesome deal going on: order 30+ yards and get it for $5/yard (if it’s more than $5/yard, that is). My mom was putting in a huge order and Sarah and I added a few yards, too. Ever wonder what 31 yards of fabric looked like? Well, that pile is 31 yards of fabric! I got the three in the top photo plus a yard of Heather Ross’s blue horses.
I was so lucky to find that she was in Portland and asked if I could pick up our order. I was anxious to get the fabric, and of course it was nice to save on shipping…31 yards = REALLY HEAVY! After that I made a stop at Cool Cottons. I wanted to get some of Amy Butler’s lime green dots, and they just happened to have a small amount left. (They still had some left yesterday if your looking for lime.) So of course I had to redeem my filled punch card! Just look at all of my finds. The top two fat quarters are part of Erin McMorris’ Wildwood line (Lime Wallflower and Sophie’s Garden) and the bottom two are part of Lizzy House’s new Red Letter Day line. Did you know Lizzy just moved to Portland? And that Erin McMorris currently resides here? Normally, I wouldn’t have bought pink fabric, but it was so cute. Just had to add it. There are a few new baby girls soon to be entering the world, and they might need a quilt with this in it.
This was new since last time I was in. I’m not sure who the manufacturer is, I didn’t pay attention when I was getting my fabric cut. I was trying to keep Brice happy on my hip. He LOVES fabric shops and just wants to get down and touch all the fabric.
The selvage is so cute on this one. I emailed the shop to see who it’s by. I’ll post it here once I hear back.
I was only going to get a half yard of this, but decided I'd better get a yard. I could see this being a top of some kind for myself this summer. I’m not really big into making clothes (I think sewing my prom dresses did me in)…but I might have to make an exception for this fabric. Now I just need to scope out patterns next time I’m at Fabric Depot. This is part of the Gipsy Glitter Collection by Art Gallery Fabrics.
Except for the “feeling cruddy” at the end of the day, it was a good day. I hope to be back to my usual blogging (and sewing) self next week.

These are all so cute, but I particularly love the orange and ble stiped one with dots and the photo second from last - i'm not suprised you bought a whole yard! It's perfect.
wow, it sounds and looks like you found some great deals. what gorgeous fabrics... im quite jealous.
How did you hand over the rest of that fabric! I think I would have been tempted to grab it and run and say "Mum, Sarah, What fabric?"
:)
PS. You are not alone, I too have had similar problems taking pills each day and probably most people who take anti-biotics and start off taking them all the time and then start to forget... Hope you are feeling better.
I hope you are feeling better. I have the same struggle taking my thyroid pill. I don't know why. I know how you're feeling though. Take care! love the fabric too!
I saw that mexican fabric a few months ago.. I love it.. I want to go back and get some.. what do you think they would think about me coming in with the twins... too much? hehe I need a nanny so I can fabric shop more. also.. red dots??? Did she have any?
Beautiful fabric. I had to set an alarm on my cell phone so that I will remember to take my pill every day around the same time. I like that I can set the alarm for daily, that way i don't have to remember to set the alarm. hehe
Feel better soon.
I love the "Mexican" fabric. I must have some. Please let me know when you find out who the manufacturer is.
Thanks, Robin in Seal Beach, CA
im thinking that mexican fabric would be so cute in my kitchen.. hmmm
Yummy fabrics, am shopping at aunt beas right now!
Oh, mama. Do you have hypothyroid? Mine went haywire after my first daughter was born. Apparently it's pretty common for pregnancy to do that to you. Great. I didn't know what was wrong with me, and I felt like I did in my first tri of pregnancy. There were days when I was driving to work and was seriously afraid I would pass out at the wheel, after having only been up for an hour or 2. It was crazy. I take that pill the second I wake up every single day, which I hate but am finally used to. If not, I'm a wreck. Hope you feel better soon!!!!
I am glad that you are feeling a bit better. is it Hypothyroidism? I hope that your weekend goes better and that you start out next week even brighter.
Awesome faric by the way.

My goodness, girl! I can't imagine how much all that fabric cost! If only...
THank you THank you for the Aunt Beas 411. I spent a little over an hour on the site tonight and racked up a huge tab. Now I just need to weed through everything... might get myself into trouble with the total. So jealous you were able to do a pickup... my shipping is $$$$.
Lovely to see you and again and not just because you showed that beautiful fabric . Take care hope all improves for you soon .
OMG...Thanks for the Aunt Bee link! AWESOME! You are a true inspiration. My sister Jules (julesinsearch) just bought a coffee wrap from your ETSY shop. It is gorgeous!
