I had some extra pieces sitting around from when I was originally figuring out some of the blocks for the quilt-along. I decided they would make great little pillow covers. I listed this one in the shop.
This one I love. I did have plans of listing it in the shop, but when I was thinking of a quilting design for it I drew on the fabric with a water soluble marker. I changed my mind on the quilting, but the ink decided it wanted to stay on the red flower print.
And, not only that, but the red bled all over when I was spritzing it out and trying to iron it dry. Lovely. So now this one will live with me.
I did remember to put my stamped tags in there. I love this twill tape. I bought it from Amber some time back, and it’s still my favorite.
Oh! Totally off topic, but I finally put a button to the “how-to” photography posts from a few months ago on my side bar. It’s the one that has a camera and says “Photography 101”. The link will take you to a page with a link to each of the posts. I like being able to find stuff quickly, don’t you?

It's too bad the red color ran, because it is a beautiful cushion. Love both of them.
Bummer on the running color...they both are so bright and pretty (is it so bad that one has to stay home with you...it sure would brighten my day!)
sorry about the little mess on the pillow. this looks great. the tumblers are one that i have been thinking about trying.
They're both super cute!
I wonder if Oxyclean might take out that bleed? I used to be really skeptical about the stuff, but I picked some up a few months ago and it is magic! Might be worth a try! :) I use it on vintage fabric often and I've never had a problem, so would imagine it would be okay on new fabrics!
Adorable!
Bummer on the marking pen and red running!!! No fun after your hard work. Will you share which pen it was?
Cute pillows but what a bummer about the bleeding!
How beautiful!
I made a huge queen quilt once and it bleed. I cried about it for two days. So upsetting@
both cushions are gorgeous!
Such bright and gay colours- Lovely!
sorry the marker was naughty! the pillows are just great anyway. I really want to try a zig zag quilt sometime, maybe I should start with a pillow?! There's an amazing zig zag quilt with kaffee fasset prints at my local quilt shop that I've been drooling over.
Oh my goodness! love those pillows ( and the stamps too) the colors are fabulous as is the design
Yum yum yum, love the pillows. Bummerabout the bleed. I second trying the oxo stuff (I use oxo brite on vintage linens with great sucess—just soak!). And thanks for the store shout out :)
I think that I will make a pillow like that this weekend. You did such a perfect job!
Now, I must look at your photography "how-to".
Have a lovely weekend :)
Looking good as far as I am concerned.....and you can never have too many cushions!!!

Thank you Thank you for the photography button! I saw that photography post way back but was so busy working for the olympics that I didn't get to really read it. Now I have the time and I couldn't remember where it was. Great tutorial! It so visual and easy to understand.

Thanks for sharing the pillows! I am a new sewer, but I was able to make a throw pillow for my mom-in-law just based off the picture of the "zigzag" pillow. I am so proud of the finished product, thanks to you! :)
