Falls apart. Dies. Breaks. I honestly want to know what fates are conspiring against me, and why. Sunday the internet hub died, Monday my camera died, all week i’ve had various mishaps and broke things and then yesterday my computer has decided it’s ready to crap-out. At this point, after lots of late night testing, I might need a new processor. Yea. Guess that new camera is on hold for another two weeks. So this may be my last post for a few days, as it takes me about 30 minutes to process a photo that should take me 2 minutes to process.
Ok, enough of that. Thursday was my 3rd wedding anniversary, and both my husband and myself feel like it’s been so much longer than that – in a good way! Last weekend we were at the store getting him some clothes for this formal birthday party we have tonight, and the sales gal helping us said “I can tell you two have been together for a very long time.” We both laughed and told her we’ve only been together about 4 years. We’re just that kind of couple, the one that seems to be an old couple before our time. We have been through so much, and seen so much, in our short time together. Trust me, it hasn’t all been perfect along the way – far from it at times, but we know how to stick it out. And of course love really does got a long way.
We went out for dinner and drinks before my “talk” at the PMQG meeting. How did it go you ask? Well, I was of course nervous, and started out shaky, but I think I got better about speaking part way through, as my brain kicked in and said “you know this stuff!” Everyone was so nice and I loved meeting all of the local bloggers in person. I’m so glad you guys came up and introduced yourself. It was good seeing old friends and blog-friends, too. And I even talked Liz into coming with me. All-in-all, it was a wonderful evening and I really enjoyed it. (Thanks Jen for taking the photos.)
Of course, after the talk, I over analyzed everything and just wanted to reiterate that there is no right or wrong way to do these kind of things. Sometimes easier and faster, but you always have to do what works for you. I was fortunate enough to talk about what worked for me, but I am in no way saying that is how everyone should do it. When it comes to sewing, we each need to take our own route and do what works for us – and do what gets us creating! There is nothing worse than being too intimidated to try something. Better to try and fail, then not try at all.

How fun Christina that you got to do a little speaking about something you are so gifted at. And I agree, no right or wrong way. Just however you can get it done is best. Great post and happy anniversary!
Yay! I'm glad it went well! Happy anniversary.
I had a phase like that about three months ago. Everything broke. Washer, dryer, kitchen sink, vacuum, weed wacker, front door hinge, harddrive, ugh... you name it. In fact, we got a surprize baby from that too... So everything (including my cycle and our BC plan) was broken. lol! I feel your pain. Slowly, but surely, we are getting things fixed and put back together... and settling with the idea of being a family of 6 very soon. ;)
Congratulations on three years! That is completely awesome. Happy anniversary!
Blessings,
Val
Happy Anniversary! Glad your talk went well. Ooppss! I had no idea there was a PMQG meeting, I totally would have been there. sigh..
Oh, ha ha ha! I just read your previous post that it's Portland MQG. I'm part of the Philly MQG and we call ourselves the same thing.
It was really fun to meet you and chat after the meeting! I'm still sort of coveting your camera strap - so cute. And hey - once you replace/fix all the broken stuff you should be good to go for a few years at least, right? Happy Anniversary.
Two hands on the IPAD at all times :)
Happy Anniversary, and I'm quite proud of your big talk! You are awesome!
I think you did a wonderful job! And I love that everyone seems to have their own unique way of making a hexagon. After your talk, I saw at least three more ways of doing it! Some were faster, some slower, but all were hexies when they were done.
Happy anniversary! July 15th is mine too, my hubby's present to me was taking me to the meeting :) and being available to hold our little one if needed (I was in the back with the baby at the meeting). Ahhh, love! It was a great present!
I just want to hug you or pour you a drink. I hate it when everything gangs up all at once. Don't take it personal! You did a great job at the meeting and it was a pleasure! Hope things smooth out soon.
I guess when it rains it pours! and congratulations on giving your talk!
Maybe you're storing up some sort of magnetic electrical charge... The only cure for it that I know of is pie, generously applied and shared, with a side of laughter, until your ions go back to normal. :-)
Happy Belated Anniversary! You did a great job of presenting. Now I know there is nothing to be afraid of when it comes to hexies :)
Thanks for coming to the PMQG meeting and sharing with us your trial and error with making hexagons. I made 70+ hexagons while driving to and from Medford on Saturday. They really are as easy as you say!
I have weeks like that, when things start happening, it's all at once :) I enjoyed your talk at the meeting, I am happy I got to meet you. You did a great job.
I was so glad to finally meet you! Sorry to hear about your camera, boo!
Thanks for speaking, you did great! I know I learned a lot. It was great to meet you at the meeting! Happy Anniversary, and I hope you get a new camera soon.
LOL, you can say you know how to stick it out when you are celebrating your 25th anniversary. You ain't seen nothin yet.
