After Brice started to finally recover from his awful flu/croup/whooping cough(?) I got sick! It was terrible, of course. I don’t do well with being sick. What made it especially bad was to be stuck in bed nursing an awful congestion headache, unable to take medicines for it and celebrating a birthday!
Lucky for me, an AWESOME gift from Jeni arrived on my doorstep to help make it all better. Jeni is an awesome thrifter and sent me the coolest bunch of things.
But I think my favorite of it all was the zipper pouch she made with leftover binding fabric from her first two quilts she made. And what was so special about it was I quilted her first quilt she made…and it just happened to be the first quilt I quilted professionally, too. So it is just very, very special to me to have this little pouch.
I’m thinking it will be perfect for holding small hand sewing projects. For now it is just sitting on my cutting table for me to admire.
I especially love that I had just commented on the fact that I needed to get my floss put onto cards the week prior after seeing this photo in her stream, and then cards appeared for me to do just that! Now I need to see if I can find my winder to make it go a little quicker. Jeni – thank you so much for such an awesome birthday gift! I can’t wait to get using the vintage sheets with the few I have stashed away. It’s been on my to-do list for a very long time and I think I have enough to do something about it now.
And to all of you, thanks for all of your comments over the last few posts. I apologize for not being able to get back to most of the comments as I just have been so out of it with holidays, kid sick and me sick, but I do appreciate everyone who takes the time to leave a note! Thank you!

Hey stranger, love the pouch! Glad you and Brice are feeling better. COLDS SUCK! Gorgeous pictures as always. One question though...Why can't you take cold medicine? There is only one reason I know of ;), perhaps the same reason I can't take any? HEHEHE
I am sorry you got sick too! It's the worst when mom gets sick, you fall behind on everything. Glad you are feeling better now.
What a fun package from your friend, good friends are such a blessing.
Aw, happy birthday! You're allowed a do-over once you are all recovered, you know. Lovely gift box!
such a great package : )
Happy Birthday (a bit late) and glad you and Brice are feeling better. What a lovely birthday package. Love the berry print used as wrapping. If it's not fabric I'd have to scan and print me a piece, lol...as if there isn't enough fabric in the world and in my house. Blessings :o)
What a great pouch! Tiziana from Italy
