Well, I had a little accident yesterday. And because of it, it’s difficult for me to type. Who knew one finger could make such a difference! I was happily chopping cilantro yesterday for guacamole, and whoops! Chopped the top of my finger. So I’m missing the nail and some of the skin under it, but I was reassured it will all grow back and be fine in time. So I’m afraid it will be a little quiet around here for awhile. At least until I can type with this finger again.

I really was looking forward to telling you about Plate to Pixel today, but it will have to wait. I will say that it’s an awesome photography book that, while dealing with foods, has a lot of application for us crafty bloggers, too. So if you’ve thought about purchasing it, I would encourage you to do so. Excellent book.

Also, Cara at Focal Press let me know that the app I reviewed yesterday, The Photographer’s Eye, will be on sale through Monday for just $4.99! That is an incredible savings! I’m off for now, but will be back briefly on Sunday with the names of our winners. See you then!

Oh no!! And ouch! Hope it heals quickly!
OUCH! I've done that before so I know how terribly it hurts. I hope it heals very soon!
So sorry about your finger! I was sure it was a rotary cutting mishap -I've seen plenty of those bandages before. Hope it heals soon. Thanks for the app tip!
:-( I was so hoping it wasn't a quilting injury but, this is just as bad! Get well soon!
I'm sorry about your finger, that hurts! I wish it heals very soon :)I'd like to thank you about your posts on photography books. Your advices came just in time as we were looking for a good one to buy online ( not an easy task without seeing it!). So, my daughter and I decided for the Scott Kelby one, as our first on the subject. I'm curious to have it in hand!
I hope you may be back to business soon again!
Warm hugs from Brazil :)
It just makes me cringe to think about it. Rest that finger and get someone to type for you while you dictate!
Ouch, I did something similar whilst making chutney. Quite a bandage there too. Hope it heals quickly.
goodness me, Christina! Well, I guess this is one way of getting yourself a real break, eh? Rest up and heal!
Yikes! Heal quickly.
Oh No!!!! I was afraid you had gotten in the way of the rotary cutter, but this looks equally as bad. And all your book recommendations are making amazon.com SUPER happy. Just sayin'
I hope you heal quickly. :)
Sorry to hear that. Get well soon.
Cutting is my least favorite activity while cooking, sewing etc, I am a bit accident prone. Have you tried Dragon Program I have a lot of clients that use it (I have a computer business).

Good luck.
Ughh, your story just gave me the heebie-jeebies!
If it makes you feel any better I had a finger that looked like that about a year ago...I ran my finger over with the rotary cutter. Gross!
Feel better soon!
I'm sorry to hear about your finger- such a bummer! I think I'd be afraid to use a knife for awhile. Hope you heal up quickly! xx
Oh no! I've done that same injury before, but with my rotary cutter. I probably shouldn't tell you that it could be months before it doesn't bother you. Those nerves in your hands are sensitive!
The question remains, did you get to eat your guac?
Oh no, poor darling! I hope you're feeling okay - luckily it was only the tip and not further down (my mum cut half her finger off when I was younger trying to cut apart frozen hamburger patties, ugh). Hope you'll be back to blogging soon!
Owwwwwwch....that sounds so sore...hope it heals quickly...greetings from south africa
Awwwhh :( so sorry to hear about your finger. I hope you have a speedy recovery!
Ouch and double ouch! Hope you get better really soon! And just wanted to say that I'm really enjoying your series on photography books! I just bought myself a new Canon slr and really need to learn to use it!
Oh man I hate finger injuries and hope you are better really soon. That wrap looks like it must have been a bad one! Let's just say I'm familiar... a nice glass of wine somewhat deadens the pain. Rest up and enjoy those who will cater to you!
